Young girls being budding entrepreneurs
Little comforts can make life easier. A small thought that struck our LEADers to make the tedious scarf tying procedure into a simpler and comfortable one. Entrepreneurship is not taught to anybody, ideas emerge on mere observation and bring the entrepreneur in a person. Our LEADers are the example for this statement.
Dust, ruffling sun, pollution etc are prime reasons why women use scarfs. Generally the traditional scarfs take time and efforts to tie and that is troublesome especially when we are in hurry. On seeing this, LEADer Vaishnavi Hatrote and LEADer Supriya Kulkarni came up with an innovative design of scarfs. These scarfs are made of cotton material which helps in reducing dehydration, Facing immense pollution, dust leading to rashes, pimples etc. The scarf is designed in such a manner that it is easy to wear and also economic for anyone to use it.
They named the product MANTILLA. This idea is now processed and growing better under the banner of LEADERship Challengehosted by LEAD. They work passionately as the change makers of the society.
This idea also has been an employment opportunity for few rural women from surrounding regions of Belgaum. A little earning that they fetch from this project makes them feel self reliant. This project is definitely a step towards women empowerment.
In one of the recent exhibition held in Belgaum, MANTILLA was displayed.
They received a huge positive response from the crowd. Women assembled at the exhibition expressed that this product was definitely of great use to them. Everybody appreciated the idea and also the fact that young girls are making their way through the market and building an identity for themselves.
This product is soon to be a successful startup. This project marks the importance being attentive to the surrounding and also sparing a thought in contributing the best you can.
