The world’s cheapest water filter tops ELEVATE 100 : NIRNAL water filters

The long sight towards a better India is no less at the high speed to reach the required outcome. The better world is right over our sight when there are helping hands for our youth. Taking up the tech world to a different level, the government of Karnataka has proclaimed the names of 100 startup projects out of 1700 registered applications from Karnataka, in the duration of its two-day, India’s first comprehensive entrepreneurship platform, “ELEVATE 100” held on 29 August 2017 and 30 August, 2017.This event contestants also encountered funding support, extend legal supports, and absorbed various knowledge sessions in regards to startup.

A proud moment for us to have known that a student from Belgaum, named Niranjan Karagi, with support from Deshpande Foundation’s “LEAD-LEADers Accelerating Development”program came up with a device named “NIRNAL”.  It is a compatible, portable, reusable, healthy and an eco-friendly water purifier. A product that ensures ‘Safe Drinking water ’ at an affordable price. This acts as a filter when the water oozes out of Nirnal fixed to the bottles. It is easy to use, imparts taste and also adds some essential minerals to the water.

The startups that have been shortlisted will get a funding support of about Rs 35 crore from the government to pursue their tech-ideas and scale them up. Global director, Microsoft Mr. Ravi Narayan rightly was amazed and handed a helping hand financially for Niranjan’s device. Niranjan believes that such great opportunities have boosted his confidence to bring his startup at another level.

He says “I, never thought I would be getting so much of exposure and chance to meet so many investors, who have shown great interest to invest in my device”.

Ever since the product is in the market 8000 units have been sold. He also has orders from various schools and different parts of the nation. Niranjan plans to take this project to a level where every person gets to drink pure water. Niranjan says in all his ventures his family has been a constant support and has never failed to motivate him. The success of his projects no doubt gives him satisfaction but the urge to contribute more never dies.
