“Road sense is the offspring of courtesy and the parent of safety”

Sreelykha, Ramya, Vaishnavi joined lead after getting inspired by LEAD seniors who were working on the innovative and eco friendly projects. So, they also wanted to do social work and help the society. They joined LEAD through Sardhar Ganesh who is the most influential and inspiration for them to join the LEAD platform.

Each year in India, more than 150,000 people are killed in road accidents. That’s about 400 fatalities per day. According to an annual report of 2018 the road deaths in India increased to nearly 1.5 lakhs. In 2017, a total of 4,64,910 road accidents were reported in the country.  In which 1,47,913 of people have lost their lives and causing injuries to 4,70,975.

So, to solve this issue our LEADers Sreelykha, Ramya and Vaishnavi from Gauthami Degree College took an initiative for road safety.  by pasting radium stickers near roads to prevent from road accidents. They implemented this project mainly near on Mosra and Varni roads where there is a high probability of accidents happening regularly. Not only getting permission from neighbours and officials but also pasting radium stickers on roads while looking out for less traffic in hot sun was a challenge for them.  They got a lot of great appreciation from people, friends and family for their hardwork and being concern for public safety.

As road accidents is a big concern LEADers say that it’s an on going process  but as this project is successful they are planning to place diection road sign boards near side ways of highway. By this step they want to prevent more road accidents and to keep the highways more safe and secure to drive around. Their future plans is to do more eco-friendly projects and to make the human lifes more safe and secure to live and we wish them all the very best for their future career.

“Drive Safe, because speed driving might be a thrill sometimes but not for your loving ones”.
