Festivals are the celebration of togetherness the celebrations of being one of the family. Festival of Rakhi or Raksha Bandhan is one such major occasion. It is the symbol of love, care, emotions, duty and protection.The meaning of Raksha Bandhan is “the tie or knot of protection”. This day brothers vow to be there by his sister’s side in any circumstances and ensure their safety.
LEAD projects a broader view of Raksha Bandhan. There are many other people who are part of our well being but they go unnoticed. Bonds not by blood but bonds of affection and duty are what the students of LEAD thought of. LEADers of various locations celebrated the day with people who play prominent roles in our lives.
LEAders of KLE BCA, Hubballi tied Rakhis to traffic police and petrol bunk workers. They said it was beautiful experience and opportunity to establish that affectionate bond.
Students of women’s college chikodi visited an orphanage, spent some quality time and celebrated raksha bandhan with them. The LEADers were happy to give them the family love as they are deprived of it.
Similarly LEADers of Chitradurga and Davangere spread across the city and celebrated with policeman, shopkeepers, auto drivers,garage and petrol bunk workers. They also met the district commissioner in the course of celebration.
Leaders from KCP Science College Vijayapur Celebrated Raksha Bandhan with superintendent of police, district commissioner and orphanage kids of Vijayapur by tieying Eco friendly Rakhi. The officials expressed their joy and promised to keep serving the society.
LEADers of Sirsi came together and and made beautiful and creative rakhis and tied it to the police, doctors, auto drivers, security guards, home guards, ambulance drivers and all others who are working for us.
LEADer Vimal from women’s College Chikodi celebrated the festival with police and prisoners. She also encouraged her locality house wives to join her in the celebration.
