Finally the day has arrived. The countdown has stopped, the bell has rung and the place was set to witness a new journey of 38 unknown people who would be together for 10 days to experience the learnings for life and go back home with bag full of life changing lessons and memories which they would cherish for lifetime. Lead leadership Program 2019 began on 15th July 2019 in Hubli. LLP is a great platform for the youth to develop their leadership skills. It combines hands on learning experience in understanding leadership qualities.
38 passionate students of engineering from all over Karnataka arrived at Hubli to be the part of life changing experience. The LLP camp started at 11am with introduction session by Guru Sir. The students were asked about the exceptions about the camp and what is outcome they are looking forward at the end of the 10 days. The LLPians were distributed among the different committees like food committee, Logistic committee, Health committee and discipline committee. They were made to sit in their groups and discuss the rules and regulations of their committee. They listed out the dos and don’ts on a chart and explained them to all other members. Punishment is another important part of the camp. It’s really fun punishing the person who fails to follow the rules of the committee. Punishments keep the discipline of the camp alive and students stay more alert during the camps.
There was an ice breaking session for the LEADers where they introduced themselves to the whole team of LLP. After the lunch, at 2pm the LLPians boarded the bus and left to Kalkeri Sangeet Vidhyalay which is also called as KSV. KSV is a music school situated in the beautiful forest of village Kalkeri, dist. Dharwad. It is a special school to the students who are below poverty line and whose parents can’t afford a quality education. It is a non-government school run by a NRI where the students learn the Hindustani Shastriya Sangeet along with their daily curriculums. After reaching the school the LEADers were made to perform some activities and dance which would help them to learn team building and strategies in reaching the desired goals.
The students had dinner with the students of KSV and later they were taught LEAD jiving. Now it’s time for reflection. The students were called on the stage and made to share the experience and the learnings of the day. They were mentored by Miss. Akshata about the stage handling skills and discipline. The day had ended and LLPians went to sleep dreaming the things which awaited them the next day.
