LEADer Bhuvaneshwari Save lives

It is not easy to save lives and you need not be a doctor to do it. Indian government has lot of programs and initiatives to solve the health and hygine crisis and one such programe is the Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka Card program. Ayushman Bharat Yojana has the distinction of world’s largest health insurance coverage scheme. It is called Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana or National Health Protection Scheme and program aims to give Below Poverty Line(BPL) families the opportunity to get Rs. 5 lakh health insurance coverage. The problem with this program is that it was often not accessible to these people as it required a lot of education to meet the application requirements. LEADer Bhuvaneshwari Bharat from DRM Science College, Davanagere saw this problem and decided to do something about it. She took it upon herself to educate impoverished villager on how to take advantage of this new government scheme.

Even the most basic of knowledge sometimes saves lives! To date, Bhuvaneshwari has managed to help 2,000 thousand families apply for this government scheme. This has the potential to create Rs. 100 crore in value for these families. These families were able to take advantage of this scheme and get surgeries that were long overdue and recieve treatments which was out of their financial boundries. Without the help of this LEADer, some of these people may have suffered a permanent damage or died. Operations are often something, for those who can afford, we take for granted, but for some, it could mean life or death. Bhuvaneshwari didn’t just get these families an insurance but she saved their lives. She, by helping these families apply was able to bring a significant difference in the lifestyle of thousands.

This was a rather simple idea but it created more value than some of these families would make in a lifetime. If you see something you in your community think, “what would Bhuvaneshwari do?” and maybe you might be able to create as much or more impact than her projects.
