LEAD Prayana 2019 – Day 05


The 15 days journey had come to the 5th day of it. Today Prayanees started their day with something interesting than Yoga. The Prayanees started the day with a game that tested their abilities to work as a team. They were split into two groups and had to use their cooperation and communication skills to succeed. In the task, the teams had to hold hands to make a circle, pass a hula-hoop once through every Prayanee, and not let the hoop touch the ground. The two teams competed against each other to see who could get the hoop through the circle the fastest. It was an energetic and exciting start to the day.



After breakfast, they headed to the museum to see artifacts of artwork, fossils, household items, musical instruments, and more. Then, they went to the historical site of Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala Sri Manjunatha Swarmy Temple to see Karnataka’s third largest statue of Lord Bahubali at 59 feet. After, they visited the agricultural warehouse where food for the local temples are stored. Prayanees also got to see how the food was prepared at the Annapoorna kitchen.





After lunch, the Prayanees had the unforgettable experience of listening to Veerendra Heggade, a role model and philanthropists of India. He gave advice to the students that failure and success are similar, but failure is more important. This is because it serves as a challenge and you can learn more from failure. After the inspiring session, the LEADers got on to the bus and headed to Moodabidri.





After a long stay at Dharmasthala with exploring the various task Prayanees reached deemed education institute, Alva’s College. Prayanees were greeted by Vivek Alva, managing director, Alva’s Institute. Vivek’s speech was welcoming and motivating. Then, they visited the botanical garden that had many types of medicinal plants. The Prayanees learnt about all types of treatments using natural methods.

They ended the long day with dinner at Alva’s college and caught up with some rest. Every Prayanees was excited for the next day to celebrate Republic Day, one of the proudest day of India in Alva’s College which is also famous for the celebrations of such huge and national events.
