On 2nd of October the national festival Gandhi jayanti is celebrated all over the country to mark the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, ‘The father of our nation’. Which is one of the important national events of India. On the occasion of Gandhi jayanti our LEADer Krishna Chavan the student of Jain Engineering College Belagavi took the initiation to celebrate with different thought. He along with 30 leaders conducted a “Cycle Rally” with all big banners from the Jain College of engineering to different villages around Belagavi. They peddled on the roads of Macche, Piranavadi and Hunchanatti and created awareness about various aspects among the people. They were successful on reaching nearly 280 to 300 people. “The people were really supportive and appreciating about our thoughts” said the Leader Krishna.
The main aspect of the cycle rally was to make the people aware of India and clean India.
Fit India, a healthy India
Fit India a mass movement for healthier India is carried all over the country. Fit India moment was started by our sport minister Mr. Rajavardhan Singh Rathore who also challenged honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many other fitness idols such as Virat Kohli. During the ‘ Mann ki baat’ program on 25th March of 2018 the Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a Clarion call for Fit India – a movement to take the nation forward on the path of fitness and wellness. This moment is also known as “Hum Fit toh India Fit” The leaders went to the people and explained them about the importance of health and cycling. How the cycling benefits both the nature and our health.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
As we all know Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide campaign which is started in our country by our honorable prime minister that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India’s cities, towns and rural areas. But it is not the work of only government. It is the work of ours, we the citizens of India should pledge to key our mother land clean. This is what our leader do believe in. They went to the people and educated them the importance and needs of cleanliness. They also motivated them by picking the fallen plastics from the roads.
“Life is short, wear a helmet and leave longer” was the theme to educate the people on the roads without helmets. The leaders went to the people who were traveling without the helmets on the roads and explained them the importance of safe riding. The studies say that 75% to 88% of death occurs due to head injuries in road accidents. One small decision of wearing helmet can save a life. For safety helmet is the most important equipment to protect our noggin. It is also found that wearing helmet can reduce the risk and severity of injury by 72% isn’t that really great!
This was the great work done by the students of Jain engineering college. They said that they got to learn many things from this project such as team work, courage to talk to people, Leadership quality and it improved their talking skills.
